Don Kenneth Wilburn, 88-year-old Sherman resident, died Sunday, June 23, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Kingston Texas to Juana Mae and Jimmy Truett Wilburn. He left High School before graduating to join the Army and served 2 tours where he was stationed in England. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He Married the love of his life of 32 years, Ava, on Nov. 13th, 1976 in Desoto Tx then later they settled in Sherman Tx.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ava; sisters: Verna Faye, Barbara Lynn, Marjorie Jean, Ollie Ruth; brothers: Alfred Thomas, Alton Lewis, Larry Dale, Bobby Duane, and J.T; son Ronnie; daughter Dana.

He is survived by his sisters: Vida Rae and Carol Ann, his brother: David Carl, his sons: Ricky, Kenneth, David, Dennis, and Todd, his daughters: Donna, Tammy and J.J.; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He never knew a stranger and made friends with everyone.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. A memorial service for Don will be held at Waldo Funeral Home on August 9th 2024 at 1 pm with Pastor James Ezell of Latter Rain Church Of God In Christ officiating.
