Donald Gene Gibson was born Tuesday, July 25th, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Ernest and Alline (Talley) Gibson and went into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 4th, 2016 in Richardson, Texas at the age of 76.

Donald was raised in Houston with his family. He was called into the ministry spending 25 years as an ordained minister. Donald served 20 years as pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Hillsboro, Texas. He came to Sherman and worked for Texas Instruments retiring in 2002. After his retirement from the pulpit, he continued to minister and devote his time to counsel and help people. Donald had a passion for being a mentor to other pastors in helping them grow in their spiritual walk. He had a love for his beloved dog, Missy, whom was always by his side. He was a member of Harvest Time Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Wayne Gibson.

He is survived by his children, Laura Taylor and her husband Andy of McKinney, TX, John Gibson and his wife Stacy of Pea Ridge, AR, and Julie Badia and her husband James of Houston, TX; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; former wife, Sharon Neely of Tomball, TX; and brother, Billy Ray Gibson and his wife, Carolyn of Pearland, TX.

Mr. Gibson's family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 8th, from 6-8 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.

Services to celebrate Mr. Gibson's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Jan. 9th, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Nathan Cain officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery.
