Dora Edna (Tuck) Covington, 92, passed peacefully from this life on May 11, 2024, at her home in Sherman, Texas. She was born October 18, 1931, in Seymour, Texas, to Joe and Eva Lou Tuck. Dora graduated from Seymour High School in 1949. After high school, while working as an operator at General Telephone, she met the love of her life, Frank Covington. They were married on December 23, 1950. Over the next 15 years, Frank's job with GTE had them living in many different locations across Texas until they settled in Sherman in 1966 with their four children.

Dora was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who found happiness in her family, crafting, and reading. She particularly loved spending time outdoors gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe T. and Eva Lou (Roberson) Tuck; husband, Frank W. Covington; brothers, Jack and JD Tuck; sister, Laura Beth Miller; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Cameron.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children: daughters Janna Covington and DeAn, and husband Larry Sisemore; sons Mike and wife Shirley Covington and Tuck and wife Amy Covington. She is also survived by a loving legacy of 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service, a celebration of Dora's life, will be held at the Promiseland Church in Sherman on June 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Rick Burcham will officiate.  We invite you to join us in remembering and honoring her.
