Doris made her entrance into this world on June 1, 1957 in Hendrix, OK , the firstborn child of Lois (Fields) Turner and Carlton Turner Sr. She graduated from Achille High School, Achille OK and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. She taught school in the Denison ISD. Over the course of her career, Doris touched the lives of countless students. She was known for her kind and caring nature, always willing to lend an ear or offer a word of encouragement.

Doris was married to Elder Michael Brown. She faithfully supported him in ministry; serving in several capacities in the church. She had a heart for helping people, especially those in need, and she lived her life with a selflessness that was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Doris departed this life on Saturday, March 18, 2023 after a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carlton Turner, Sr.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her mother Mrs. Lois Turner, sons Quentin King and Brian King, siblings Sheila (Kenny) Gilmore and Carlton Turner Jr, two grandchildren, Brinlee King and Robert King, nephews JaBrock Smith (Emma), Carlton Turner III, and Eric Bryant, and niece Whitney Turner.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, always putting her family first and cherishing every moment spent with them. She was also a loyal friend and neighbor, and her kindness and warmth touched the lives of everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A public visitation will be Friday, March 24 ^th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, March 25 ^th at 1:00 PM in the Mt.Olive Baptist Church in Denison. Rev. Alton Blakely is the Host Pastor. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery in Hendrix, Oklahoma.
