Graveside services for Doris G. Shepherd, age 83, of Sherman, TX will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sherman, TX. Jeremy Woods of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church - Denison Campus will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.

Doris passed away on November 29, 2012 at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman.

She was born on June 9, 1929 in Howe, TX the daughter of Floyd and Ruby Sprowl Nelson. Doris graduated from Sherman High School in 1948. She married John A. Shepherd Sr. on May 5, 1951. Doris was a member of East Sherman Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband John, of Sherman, TX, daughter, Juana McBride and husband Larry of Denton, TX, son, John A. Shepherd Jr. and fiance' Susie Williams both of Denison, TX, five grandchildren, Jennifer Reedy, Marc McBride, Jaime Shepherd, Trey Shepherd and Melissa Williams and two great grandchildren, Hayden Reedy and Conner Vannatter-Reedy. Doris is also survived by her sister, Patsy Shay of Lewisville, TX, brother, Michael Nelson of Arlington, TX and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Janssen McBride, great grandson, Ashton Reedy and sister, Shirley Schnitker.

Family night will be held on Friday, November 30th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
