Dorothy Bishop of Sherman Texas passed away in the early hours of 8th August 2023 at the age of 98.

She is survived by her son, Steve Bishop and his wife Sandra and her grandson Samuel Bishop and his wife Melissa and their children Chloe and Caleb.

Dorothy was born May 11th, 1925, in Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter of Daniel Webster McShan and Elsie Mae Hunt McShan.  She graduated Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls and later married Beryle Bishop on 4th April 1947.  She had two sons, Billy Ben Bishop and Steve Bishop.

Dorothy was known to all as a happy positive person who was always generous and helpful.  She had a curious mind, ready to explore different fields of interest and an avid reader.  She was a medical technologist working in the lab, at the Essen Clinic in Sherman, who mixed her own chemicals, grew cultures and ran tests well before today's machines and computers altered the job.  She was President of the Texas Graphology Analysis Society, worked with Local and County Historical Societies and was well versed in genealogy.  A caring mother, active church member and enjoyed travel.  She lived a full, healthy, and happy life, supported by family and friends.

It is in great sadness that she has passed, but in her final weeks she was at peace and ready for what was likely to come.  She can rest in peace.

A service will be held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman TX at 11 am on Monday 14th August 2023.
