"Dub" Melvin Kuhn, of Denison, Texas, passed away in his home on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 85 years old.  Dub was born on March 28, 1939, in Lindsay, Texas to Henry and Allie Kuhn.  He attended Lindsay High School, graduating in 1957 and was very involved in 4H.  He was married to the love of his life, Linda Godwin on October 29, 1960. Soon thereafter he was drafted into the military where he served as a medic in the United States Army.  Following his military service, Dub worked in the grocery business for both Tom Thumb and Kroger until 2002, when he retired.

Dub was a loving and devoted husband, dad, papa, and great-grandpa.  He was loved dearly by all his friends, neighbors, and former employees, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Dub enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, taking care of his cattle and working on his property. But most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Allie Kuhn, and siblings Vickie Kuhn and Linda Barentine.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Kuhn, his son Greg Kuhn and his wife Sonya, his daughter Melanie Baze and her husband Taylor.  Additionally, he is survived by his brother Henry Kuhn Jr.

Dub leaves behind grandchildren Madison, significant other Jarren, Parker, Brody, Kendall, wife Janna and Kelsey, husband Brandon and great-grandchildren Kyler, Blair, Kaylee, Quinn, Selah, Norah, and Jaxon.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by visitation from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.  Funeral service and mass will be on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sherman, TX.  Burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, in Lindsay, TX.

Pallbearers will be Danny and Kevin Barentine, Kyle and Brett Kuhn, Adam Zimmerer, and Ron Hudnall.
