Edgar was born November 24, 1991 in Mexico City, Mexico, to parents Gavy and Luis Munguia. Edgar died on May 11, 2017 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas at the age of 25, surrounded by family and friends.

Edgar was a graduate of Sherman High School in 2009. While in school, he participated in a dance crew called "Lunatik2" where he made many friends and treated everyone like family. He was an amazing father to two kids, Johnie Munguia and Robert Acosta.

Edgar was always a hard worker and could do anything he put his mind to. He enjoyed working out every day and grilling for his family and friends as often as he could. He was loved by so many, and the closest to him were family, his wife, Brigette; brothers, Diego, Luis, Angel, and Ricky; his sister-in-law, Veronica Walker and first newborn niece, Deveny Munguia.

Edgar's favorite hobby was watching the Dallas Cowboys every chance he could and celebrating with his friends and family. He would tell everyone that 2017 was their year to win the Super Bowl. Eight days before his passing, God gave him strength to be baptized as well as baptize 10 of his family and friends. He was ready to be home with God and will be truly missed by so many people. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 15, at Western Heights Church of Christ with Mitch Wiggains officiating. Edgar will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery.
