Edith Elaine Kennedy, 93 of Sherman, passed from this earth to meet her Lord on March 22, 2025. Elaine passed surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Elaine grew up around Cunningham, Texas, where she graduated from high school and met the love of her life Charles Kennedy. Charles and Elaine were married on October 4, 1947 and they were married for  64 years until Charles's death on December 20, 2011.

Elaine was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ where she served her Lord diligently.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kennedy; her great-grandson, Oliver Chapman; her father, Hubert Arthur Songer; her mother, Syble Estelle Songer; and three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Karen and Eric Kelley, her daughter, Sharen Arriazola, her son, Ricky Kennedy, 4 grandchildren, Kristin Kelley, Kari Piazza and husband Joe, Mandy Riley and husband Shawn and Clint Arndt and wife Brigette, 6 great grandchildren, Cash Riley, Chloe Riley, Alex Piazza, Lucy Piazza, Trent Riley and Taylor Riley, her brother Edwin Songer, sister, Louise Michelle, sister, Kathy Jarrett, and sister, Sheila Pitts. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly.

Graveside services will be held at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Family friends are invited to attend.
