Edward Lynn Vaught

Sherman- A memorial service for Edward Lynn Vaught will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday May 3 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Dacus will officiate. Mr. Vaught, 72, passed away Saturday, April 29 at his home in Sherman.

Edward was born October 24, 1944 in Sherman to the late Edward and Jewel (Dial) Vaught. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1963 and married Ann Byler on December 4, 1964. Mr. Vaught joined the Air Force in March 1968 and served four years in San Antonio. After his service in the Air Force, he went to work at Anderson Clayton as a truck driver and later became assistant supervisor. In 1981, Mr. Vaught began working at Fisher Control and worked there 20 years, retiring in 2001.

Mr. Vaught was a member of the Grayson Baptist Church. He loved to mow and garden, and ride motorcycles and four-wheelers. He rode his golf cart all over the neighborhood and loved visiting with neighbors. He organized camping trips and loved to cook for everyone. Edward was a member of the Sherman Elks Lodge.

Mr. Vaught was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Jewel Vaught; brother Leonard Vaught and his wife Doris of Lake Jackson, Texas; his wife's parents, Bobby and Mary Byler of Sherman; sister-in-law, Patsy Bray of Sherman; and brother-in-law, Jerry Byler of Sherman.

He is survived by his wife Ann of Sherman; two daughters, Jennifer Fritts of Sherman and Leanna Bullins and husband Tom of Sherman; and two grandchildren, Laci Fritts of Sherman and Tripp Fritts and his fiancé Rebekah Shields, both of Grand Prairie.
