Elizabeth Gail "Betsy" Ingham Obituary

Elizabeth Gail "Betsy" Ingham died of lung cancer May 16, 2026 in Justin, Texas. She was sixty-nine years old.

Betsy was born in Dallas on August 31, 1956 to Harold Jay and Barbara Ingham. The fourth of five children, Betsy was a sweet girl with a very tender heart. When asked as a little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was "a worker man" (whatever that meant to her). One of her favorite toys was a stuffed monkey that she called her "bride doll".

In 1966 when Betsy was ten, her family moved to Sherman where she grew up and graduated high school in 1974. She made many fast friends that lasted through high school and beyond. In July, 1981, Betsy married Daniel Knudsen, eventually moving to Upstate New York to care for her mother-in-law who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. While in New York she gave birth to her daughter, Christina, on September 25, 1984. After her mother-in-law died, Betsy and her husband moved back to Dallas where he worked and she raised her daughter.

Betsy was fun and funny. She was someone you wanted to be around. She loved the Beatles, camping, Lake Texoma, and the outdoors. She was a fabulous cook.

Betsy was predeceased by her parents and her brother Hal. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Miller, Christina's husband Braden, and their children Braden Jr. and Corinne. Betsy is also survived by three sisters, Cynthia Gage of North Carolina; Patricia Scott and husband Dan of Alabama; and Victoria Warnky and husband Bill of Pennsylvania. Betsy has several nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 27, 2026 at Waldo Funeral Home, (903) 893-1101.
