Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Homer Riddels October 23, 1926 - May 31, 2023

Elizabeth Ann Homer Riddels, 96, of Sherman, Texas passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2023. Elizabeth was born on October 23, 1926, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to George and Ruth Homer. She was raised and attended schools in Henryetta before moving to

Denison, Texas where she graduated from Denison High School. She began a career in banking and worked at Citizens National Bank in Denison where she met her future husband, Roy A. Riddels. They were married on December 17, 1950, and resided in Sherman where Roy had begun his veterinarian career.

Elizabeth was a life-long member of First (Covenant) Presbyterian Church. She was involved in numerous social clubs and also enjoyed cooking and entertaining in her home. Elizabeth was an excellent cook and took pride in cooking for friends and family. She was a member of the Literary Club and several bridge clubs, one that was called the foursome group. Truth be told the foursome group didn't get around to playing much bridge! She enjoyed traveling with her family and many times treated her girls to "girl only" trips. These trips were spent with Jo Ann, Ruth Ann, Patty and Emily where lots of memories were made and discussed frequently to this day.

Her family was nearest and dearest to her heart. There was no better time than family time in her eyes. In earlier years she also enjoyed boating and a little night fishing as well as spending time at deer camp.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Roy and a brother George William Homer, sister-in-law Melba and a son in law Larry Stegman. Elizabeth is survived by her children; Jo Ann Stegman, Cameron Riddels and wife Patty, Ruth Ann Moore and husband Brad, grandchildren Byron and Katie Stegman of Denison, Garrett and Jamie Riddels of Sherman, Gaylon and Cassidey Riddels of Bells, Grayson and Samantha Riddels of Sherman, Emily and Blake Bush of Ardmore, Trent and Elora Moore of Fort Worth, Keith and Paige Moore of Tulsa and fifteen great grandchildren with another precious baby on the way.

Mrs. Riddels will be available for viewing from 1:00-3:00 PM Sunday, June 4 at Waldo Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 5 at Waldo Funeral Home.  A private family burial will be held prior at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be grandsons, Byron Stegman, Garrett Riddels, Gaylon Riddels, Grayson Riddels, Trent Moore, Keith Moore, Blake Bush and honorary pallbearer Emily Bush.
