Elmer Atwood's Obituary

Sherman- Elmer Atwood, 78, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his home.

Elmer was born February 11, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa to Charles W. and Esther (Ayres) Atwood. He married Daisy Beisker on December 23, 1955 in Sherman, Texas. Elmer served four years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force and worked fifteen years of federal civil service at Perrin Air Force Base. He later became self-employed for thirteen years before going to work at Texas Instruments from which he retired in 1996. Elmer loved to fish for black bass and bargain-hunt at garage sales.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jack, Robert, and William, and one sister, Helen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Daisy; daughter, Ruth Anderson and husband Larry; granddaughter, Amy Kim and husband Tae; great-granddaughter, Olivia Kim; and two sisters, Dorothy Edwards and Ruth Grossenbacher.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Sherman, Texas. Pastor Jason Anderson of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, Texas.
