Obituary

Emma Lou (Hardin) Walker, age 92, passed away on September 20th in Denison, Texas.  Mrs. Walker was born May 1, 1933, to Richard Hobson Hardin and Earline McMillan Hardin in Dorchester, Texas.
Emma graduated from Tom Bean High School.  She married Douglas Edward Walker on June 15, 1951, at First Baptist Church in Tom Bean.

She worked for many years at Conagra.  She was a member of East Sherman Baptist – New Heritage Baptist Church and a faithful supporter of St. Jude. Emma was a devoted Christian, a scout mother, room mother, and was loved by all who knew her.  She was caring and thoughtful towards all her friends, family, and neighbors, and was an excellent conversationalist wherever she went.   Emma enjoyed crafts and painting and was a super seamstress and cook.  She was a wonderful grandmother extraordinaire who was lovingly called Mea Mea.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Walker; her parents; sister Thelma Copeland; brothers Bobbie Hardin and Harold Hardin; and grandchild, Shiloh Ann Walker.

She is survived by her sons Larry Walker and wife Donna, and Joe Walker and wife Linda; grandchildren Sterling Calhoun, Lacy Walker, Mandy Johnson and husband Ryan,Travis Walker, Courtney Packer and husband Daniel,  Lauren Hobbs and husband Will; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother Billy Hardin and wife Sarah; sister-in-law Chris Williams and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held October 6th at Waldo Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM followed by a time of fellowship and visitation.  You may sign the online guestbook at waldofuneralhome.com.
