Funeral services for Erna Maye Elkins will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 3 at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas with Rev. Bobby Hawkins officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service.  Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, Texas.  Mrs. Elkins, 92, passed away Wednesday, November 27 at Grayson Court in Denison, Texas.

Erna was born June 7,1932 in Enloe, Texas to the late Ernest and Audrey (Stephenson) Huie.  She married John Merl Elkins on June 24, 1950. She and John were married 61 years until his passing in 2011.  Mrs. Elkins was a devoted homemaker and will be remembered for her sweet smile and kind spirit.  She attended Luella Baptist Church.

Mrs. Elkins is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Williams of Cartwright, Oklahoma, Charla Edwards of Decatur, Texas, and Cheryl Miller of Luella; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Bettye Giddens of Grandview; and one brother Tommy Huie of Greenville.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Bill Huie.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's charity of the donor's choice.
