Esther T. Cervantes passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Focus Care in Sherman.

She was born on September 18, 1952, to Refugio and Esther Cervantes in Sherman. Esther was a 1970 Graduate of Sherman High School. Due to her illness, she spent most of her adult life in care facilities. She had a warm and loving heart and a strong Christian Faith. Esther was a lifetime member of El Divino Salvador United Methodist Church which later became The Divine Savior. Her Church continues today with decedents of the founding families among which her Maternal Grandfather C.O. Morales, Aunt Juanita Carr, Cousin David Roman and her present nephew, Daniel Cervantes II, have all been Pastors there.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Erin Bernard of Portsmouth, Virginia, grandson Jordon Jennings, granddaughter Jasmine Jennings, great grandchildren Jahzi Mahalo Jennings, Thomas Jennings, John Jennings Jr. and Traumari Moss Jennings, brother Refugio Cervantes of Sherman, TX, Brother Daniel Cervantes and Sherry Hall of Astoria Oregon, sister Dolores Cervantes and James Brisco, sister in law Gloria Acuna Morales also of Sherman TX, aunt Loretta Garcia of Denison TX, aunt Genevie Cunningham and uncle Tom of Anna, TX, aunt Francis Carolan of Tulsa, Ok, aunt Juanita Carr of Sherman, and uncle Manual Morales of Plano, TX.

Esther is being cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Church of the Divine Savior located at 422 W. Jones in Sherman, TX.
