Evelyn Patterson age 71, formerly of Denison and Sherman, ascended to her eternal home Thursday, August 14th, at her Garland residence following an extended illness.

Evelyn Leen Goodman-Patterson was born on January 24, 1954, in Denison, Texas to Wiley Goodman and Francis McKinney. She attended Denison public school and was married to Floyd Patterson for 40 years. Her kids are Floyd Patterson Jr. and Brandon L. Patterson of Denison, Texas. Evelyn's siblings are brother Wiley Goodman Jr., Charles D. Goodman, and sister Mary E. Goodman, all of Denison, Texas.

Her grandchildren are Jordan D. Patterson, Devan D. Patterson, and Bryia L. Patterson, all of Sherman, Tx. As well as Brenaaya S. Patterson of Dallas, Texas. She has six great-grandchildren, and a host of very special nieces and nephews.

Bit: patience is kind and love. 40 years we've weathered the storm and now you must go on, but I will always be in mind and heart, your girl.

To my siblings, it's been a good journey. I love you.

To my other sisters and brothers, it's been a blast, especially my sister, Patricia Boyd.

To all my other family and friends who I love always. Thank you for all the special moments.

To Anchor of Hope Hospice, I wanna give a special thanks to Kelly, my nurse, Kay, and Josh, for the patience, love and concern in my time of need. I love you guys.

Finally, to the ones that went ahead of me, we will be together again soon. I love you, your sis.

A public visitation will be Thursday, August 21st from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Friday, August 22nd at 1 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charleston Boyd officiating.

The family will have a repast in Waldo Family Center after the service.
