Obituary

Dolores Faye Robinson was born in a small community near Sumner, Texas, in the home of her Aunt Wilma and Uncle F.C. Simmons. She was so small, only 5 pounds. The doctor didn't give them much hope of her having a normal life. By the grace of God and a loving mother she survived. The family was blessed with a second baby girl two years later. As Lyda grew and learned, Faye began to do things Lyda did. They went to school together and sat in the same desk. Faye went to a school for special needs children in Paris. She was a hard worker at home. She learned to cook, clean, and crochet. She became a care giver for her dad, grandad Jessie Hubbard Gann, and later for her mother. Her pecan pie was a must at all family gatherings. Family and friends were on the top of her list. She loved and nurtured her brother Billy and sister Linda. She loved to take care of any baby she could. There is no telling how many blankets she made for family and friends. Her nephews, Billy Frank and Chad Robinson were a big part of her life. She was all about teaching good manners. Her spirit person was a teacher. When she could no longer take care of her mother alone, they went to live with her brother Bill and sister-in-law Peggy. They graciously opened their home and gave her much joy. Camping and fishing at Pat Mayes Lake were her delight. When Bill passed, Faye and mom came to Sherman, living with her sister Linda and brother-in-law Charles Hamilton. Again, she loved being surrounded by family and her extended family at Grayson Bible Baptist Church. She was passionate about going to church and loving Jesus. She touched so many lives in a special way. People went out of their way to be kind to her. She lived, loved, and made us laugh. We will always think of her when we see "her red birds, hummingbirds, and Hello Kitty." In our lives for 87 years and in our hearts for as long as we can remember.

Faye was preceded in death by her father Sterling Emory and mother June Gann Robinson, brother Billy Harold Robinson, brother- in- law Coy Whitener, and nephew Justin Glenn.

Survived by her sister, Lyda Whitener Buchanan, brother- in- law Dale of Sherman, Sister- in- law, Peggy Buster Robinson of Paris, Sister Linda Alvana Robinson Hamilton and husband Charles of Luella, Son, Richard Wayne Robinson of Paris, niece Cindy Lee Whitener and Joe Warren of San Antonio, nephew, Mark Whitener and wife Teresa of Wichita, Kansas, Billy Frank and Chad and Cindy Robinson of Paris, niece, Melinda Hamilton Schmiedeknecht and husband Eric of Marietta, Georgia, Darla Rostyne and husband Greg of Denison, Amanda Glenn of Denison, nephew Chase Hamilton and Wife Lisa of Joshua. Too many nephews, nieces and cousins, to list them all… just know she loved you all.

She will be remembered for her honesty; she would tell you not to golf on Sunday and don't ride a scooter. She never met a stranger and she loved everyone.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman. Burial will follow at the Luella Cemetery.
