IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances E.
Jacobs
September 27, 1937 – May 16, 2023
Frances Elizabeth (Redburn) Jacobs
Funeral services for Fran Jacobs will be held at 2:00 PM Monday May 22 at the First Baptist Church of Sherman with Rev. Steve Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Our family and friends mourn the passing of Fran from heart failure on the 16 th of May 2023, but rejoice in the comfort and knowledge that she is with the Lord now and was welcomed by her family and friends who passed before her.
Frances was born in Denton, Texas on September 27, 1937, to Bert and Mary Redburn, both very strong in their faith, her father being a minister of music. Growing up, she worked for her father at the Texas Nursery Company.
Frances graduated from Sherman High School in 1956. Meeting the love of her life, Willie Jacobs, they were wed on December 27, 1957. After Willie completed his service in the US Army, they returned to Sherman and raised their family there. They sponsored a fraternity from Austin College for several years, becoming surrogate parents to many of the young men who would spend hours at their house impressed by Willie and Fran's dedication to their faith. To this day, many of them are part of their extended family.
Fran was devoted to her church, First Baptist Church in Sherman, and was an active member in choir and was an important part of the Christmas pageant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Mary Redburn, brother, Denny Redburn, and granddaughter, Clarice Harrison. She is survived by her son, Gary Jacobs and his wife Danelle of Anna, son, Dennis Jacobs and wife Milly of Kilgore, daughter, Jennifer Davidchik and husband Zack of Sherman, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
