Sarah Frances Whitworth, 82 years old, of Sherman, passed from this life May 31, 2023. In Sherman.

Frances was born December 15, 1940, in Whitewright. She was the eldest daughter of Lowell and Ruby Guthrie. She was a 1960 graduate of Sherman High School.

After graduating high school, Frances married Donald Wallace Keene and they had three children. She later married Vernon Whitworth, to whom she was married until his death in 2021.

She was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church for many years.

Frances had worked at Pool Manufacturing many years ago. In later years she had worked at Chapel of Care Nursing Home, Texas Instruments and Walmart in Sherman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her parents Lowell and Ruby Guthrie; her sisters, an infant, Ruby Mae Guthrie, who died at birth and Alma Ruth Wilson; and grandson, Michael Lee Lemley.

Frances is survived by daughter, Kay Mutchler and husband Norman of Bells, Tx; a son, Billy Keene of Sherman; daughter, Donitta Evans and husband Wesley of Red Oak, Tx; grandchildren, Justin Davidson of Sunrise Beach, Mo.,  Ashley Kettenbach of O'Fallon, Mo., Michelle Johnson of Bells, Tx, Allie Miller of Tom Bean, Tx, Desirea Evans and Amanda Evans both of Red Oak, Tx; 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 2pm Monday, June 5 at Vittitoe Cemetery near Kentuckytown. Rev. Brian Taylor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate.
