Obituary

Frank Leon ?Harry? Brown, 90, of Colbert, Oklahoma died Tuesday, December 2 in a Sherman hospital.

Harry was born February 3, 1918 to Frank M. and Wilma Dodson Brown in the Pink Hill Community. He was the youngest of 13 children.

Harry was a kind, gentle man who loved animals, the outdoors and his family with a quiet dignity and a fierce loyalty. A loving husband, devoted father and caring family man, Harry served in the U.S. Army during World War II, first as a tank engine instructor in New York and later in the European Theater. He received an honorable discharge.

Harry married Velma Jean Sharp in 1948 and they had one daughter, Kathy, who was born in 1954. He was an active member of Parkside Baptist Church in Denison for many years. He worked for Pillsbury in Denison for many years until his retirement. Before retirement, he and Jean moved to Colbert, Oklahoma where he farmed and enjoyed life at a slower pace.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, December 5, 2008 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman. The Reverend Thomas Beall and Frank Brown, a nephew, will conduct the services. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.

Harry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean and daughter, Kathy, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. He will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
