IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Wayne
Mackey
February 19, 1949 – February 18, 2025
Gary Wayne Mackey, born February 19, 1949, left this broken world Tuesday, February 18, 2025, just one day short of his 76th birthday.
A long many years ago he went to work at Johnson & Johnson in Sherman. J&J and all of it's people were a huge part of his life. He was very proud to move into facilities as an A/C man after gaining accreditation from Grayson County College. When J&J closed down, he continued to be a facilities man for Collin County. He took pride in his work and his ability.
He was known to be a man who was great at whatever he did, from woodworking and cabinetry to auto mechanics and hot rod building. Occasionally "reinventing the wheel", he poured maximum effort into his projects done both for himself and for others. He was one hinge pin in a tight neighborhood and is well missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mackey, whom he has sorely and deeply missed. His parents John L. & Johnnie B. Mackey and his only brother, David Mackey have also gone before him.
He is survived by his girls, Sarah Wetzel with husband Brandon Wetzel and Cristin Mackey, his grandsons John Isaac & James William Wetzel, along with nieces and nephews.
