Sherman- A family visitation for George Patrick Gilbert will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday, February 9 at Waldo Funeral Home. A private committal service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a future date. Mr. Gilbert, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 7 at Medical City of Dallas.
George was born March 28, 1947 in Denison. He worked for Johnson & Johnson for several years, retiring in 1995. In retirement, George had jobs for Reinert Paper and Chemical, Tyson, and Cracker Barrel. George's passion in life was radio and broadcasting. He collected antique radio equipment and operated his own broadcasting radio station at his home, complete with his own playlist of music. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Mr. Gilbert is survived by three daughters, Angela Bruno and her fiancé Craig Hatchell of Denison, Rachael Harrelson and husband Adam of Lake Stevens, WA, and Liberty Miller and husband David of Sherman; three sons, Daniel Gilbert of Austin, William Lallier, Jr of Oklahoma, and Stephen Lallier and wife Tana of Bells; six grandsons, Kyler Bruno, Scott Miller and wife Megan, Dustin Miller, Noah Duncan, Lucas Harrelson, and Vaugh Lallier; six granddaughters, Emily Bruno, Tiffany Lallier, Madison Miller, Jennifer Naylor, Brianna Gilbert and Abby Gilbert; two great grandchildren, Eliza Marie and Slade Cole; two brothers, Richard Green of Pottsboro and Seon Snedeker of California; and three sisters, Roberta Rogers of Milan, Illinois, Toni Munoz of Littleton, CO, and Linda Mulder of California. Mr. Gilbert is also survived by many nieces; nephews; close friends; his beloved dogs, Peanut, Little Bit, and Princess; and Radar the cat.
Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by three wives, Patsy Gilbert, Devona Gilbert, and Verna Gilbert; mother, Patricia Gilbert; grandmother, Josephine Gilbert; grandfather, Arthur Gilbert; and brother, Timothy Snedeker.
