Guy Bright, age 59 of Sherman, Texas passed away at his home Tuesday night, November 17, 2009. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Waldo Funeral Home and a private family service will be held in Independence, Kansas at a later date.

Guy was born February 15, 1950 in Independence, Kansas to William Bright and Iona Hull Bright. He grew up and attended schools in Independence and served in the U.S. Army for twelve years, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon his discharge from the army he moved to Sherman and was a manager for Endergy Gas Inc. until his retirement. The biggest joy of his life were his four grandchildren. Guy is going to be missed dearly.

He is survived by a son, Guy Eugene Bright, Jr. of Coffeyville, Kansas; a daughter, Kelly Gene Kelley of South Coffeyville, Okla; grandchildren, Nathan Bright, Austin Bright, Erin Reed and Justin Kelley; five brothers, William "Bill" Bright of Sherman, Harold Joe Bright of Luella, James "Jim" Bright of Sadler, Wayne Bright and Jerry Bright of Independence, Ks.; three sisters, Patty Bustos of Orlando, Florida, Martha Jane Yeubanks of Derby, Ks. and Judy McDonald of Kansas City, Missouri; also survived by daughter-in-law, Jeannette Bright of Sherman and numerous nieces and nephews.
