Obituary

Harry Paul Casmedes Jr. passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2023, in
Sherman, TX. Born 93 years ago in Durant, OK.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lucretia "Teetsa" Popson Casmedes; daughter Angela Casmedes Watkins and sons Harry Paul
Casmedes III, John Casmedes, and Christopher Casmedes; and grandchildren Elizabeth
Donahue, Alexandra Watkins, Christine Casmedes-Gant, Harry Paul Casmedes IV, Courtney
Casmedes, John Casmedes II, Corey Casmedes, Kaitlyn Beck, and Isabella Casmedes. He
also was a proud and doting great-grandfather of five.

A devoted husband to Teetsa for 68 remarkable years, Paul held family as his greatest
accomplishment and joy. Born to immigrant parents from the same Greek village, the young
couple met and married in Pittsburgh PA. As newlyweds, they settled in Sherman in 1955,
following the completion of Paul's service in the US Air Force. A graduate of Southeastern
Oklahoma State University.

Paul enjoyed many productive years in Sherman as an insurance
agent and business owner, a former Lions Club president, and a Freemason for more than 60
years. He and his growing family attended Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church. A patient and
loving parent, he instilled in his four children a respect for hard work, family, and kindness.
After retirement, Paul continued to lead a busy life as an avid golfer and fisherman, a hands-on
"Papou" to his grandchildren, and in part-time sales at Lowe's. He had many longstanding
friendships in the community, and he enjoyed getting together regularly for morning coffee and
stock-market tips.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyne Casmedes Krieg, and their parents, Elizabeth
Papajohn and Harry Paul Casmedes Sr.

His family members celebrate the wonderfully full life he lived for 93 years.
Paul leaves behind a personal legacy of close family and friendship, and many lives touched by
his generosity and dedication. He will be missed dearly.

A graveside family service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, at Highlands Cemetery in
Durant, OK.
