Helen Amaryllis "Amy" Anderson, 91, of Sherman, Texas went to be with her Lord on October 22, 2022.

She was born March 5, 1931, in Bastrop, Louisiana, the daughter of Luin B. Rogers and Mary Alice (Metcalfe) Rogers. She graduated from Bastrop High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Baylor University in 1953. Amy taught elementary school in Sherman and Van Alstyne. She married John W. Anderson on June 24, 1956.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, and brothers. She is survived by her children, Steve and Laurie Anderson; Leslie and Jim Goon; and her grandchildren, Stephanie and David Asfar; Gail and Ben Whitley; Jennifer Goon; Laura Goon; and her great grandchildren, Alexis, Nolen, and Anderson Whitley and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at West Sherman Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Wood officiating. Private burial will be at West Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Sherman Baptist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
