James Malzie Douglas of Sherman, TX left this earth peacefully to be with Jesus on February 8, 2025.  James was born March 4, 1943, to Marvin and Annie Lee Douglas.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara Douglas, brothers Larry and Danny Douglas, sister June Simpson, and granddaughters Hope Douglas and Alyssa Douglas.

James was survived by brother Marvin Jr. Douglas & wife Betty, sisters Wanale Jones, and Sandra Signer & husband Tom.  Also surviving James are sons Tony Douglas & wife Kristy, Tim Douglas & wife Tina, daughters Teena Byington & husband Stacy, Gail Ford & husband Paul, and Teresa Douglas & husband Lee.  Also survived by James are grandchildren Staci Renee Tapia & husband Christian, Ashley Cox & husband Richard, Nic, Jonathan & Madison Douglas and Carl & Chris Ford, and 14 great-grandchildren. The final survivor is James' former wife & lifetime friend Becky Douglas.  James loved anything to do with fishing and woodworking and he spent many hours in his beloved shop tinkering. James also loved to cook and talk about cooking.

To know James was to love him and his witty sense of humor.

James will be dearly missed by his family & friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, February 13th, at Waldo Funeral Home.
