In loving memory of Mike Talley

Mike Talley, 71, of Sherman, TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mike was a loving husband, father, and Papa; he brought love, strength, and countless memories to everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his smart-mouthed endless jokes and brashness. The love for his family was endless. His biggest fans and strength were all his grandkids.

Mike was a truck driver; he loved to be on the road. He made many friends along the way; he always had a story to tell, whether it was a lesson for us to learn or something funny to make us smile. He drove all kinds of trucks; he finally retired in 2021. Mike was hardworking; he did all he could to protect and provide for his family. For the last 5 years his everyday life has been surrounded by Micah Talley, his grandson that was his heart and soul. Wife Wanda Talley of 47 years was his rock and best friend along with his cats and his dog, Ruger.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Talley; brother Paul Talley; daughter Adrian Cardenas; son-in-law Abraham Cardenas; son Scott (Angus) Talley; and daughter-in-law Candice Talley. Grandkids Micah Talley, Delilah, and Tessa Cardenas; Emily Catlyn; Samatha; and James Talley.

He proceeded to die by his mom's and dad's sister and a few friends.

The memories will always be in our hearts; his love, laughter, stories, and lessons will continue with our family. He will be missed more than words can express; our hearts are broken by his absence. We are grateful for every moment we were blessed to have shared with him.

We love you, Papa. You will be missed, rest peacefully, and you will always be in our hearts.
