James Elton Redwine passed from this life on February 22nd, 2024.
He was born December 21st, 1940, in Benjamin, Texas, the son of J. D. and Anna Mae (Stubbs) Redwine. He graduated from Benjamin Schools and then joined the US Army where he served in the Military Police. He was stationed in Korea for a time.
When his commitment to the military was over, he worked as a oilfied roughneck in Arizona. Later he was elected Sheriff of Knox County Texas. Later he worked as a security guard at Texas Instruments in Sherman, Tx.
On May 27th, 1989 he married Melba Waddle in Sherman.
James was interested in law enforcement throughout his life. He loved animals and loved reading his Bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J D and Anna Redwine, and his exwife, Judy Redwine.
James is survived by his wife; Melba Redwine of Sherman, Sons; Jimmy Redwine (Linda) of Optima, Oklahoma, Jay "Buster" Redwine (Angie) of Abernathy, Tx, Jason Redwine of the Lubbock, Texas area, Daughter; Rhonda Weixeldorfel (Bob) of Rusk, Tx, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 2nd at the Benjamin Cemetery in Benjamin, Tx.
