James Enlow Smith of Sherman, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in Denison, Texas. Jim was born on December 29, 1933 in Beechwoods, Pennsylvania. After graduating Penn State University, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enlow and Martha Smith; sister, Dorothy Campbell; brother, Paul Smith; son, Michael Smith; former wife, Susanne Smith and granddaughter, Jennifer Smith.

Jim worked in the glass container industry his entire career serving in many levels of management. He was also active in his community by serving on several civic boards during his career.

He is survived by his son, Kurt and daughter-in-law, Marianne Smith of Allen, Texas; son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith of Sherman, Texas; daughter-in-law, Martha Smith of Muskogee, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews; former spouse, Jonell Smith and Josey, his four-legged companion.

Services for Jim will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local food banks and hospice organizations.
