Memorial Services for James Yeary, age 88, of Gunter, Texas will be held on January 19, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.

James passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at home lovingly surrounded by family.

He was born December 30, 1935 in Tazewell Tennessee. He is the    son of Neal and Maude Yeary. James was an electrical engineer who loved working on machines. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and inventing things. He married Diane Eades on August 25, 1961, in South Charleston, Ohio. They were married for 62 years. James served in the Navy and was a member of the Ham Radio Club for many years. He was also a Water Board Director for 20 years and served on the Gunter ISD school board for 5 years.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Ted Yeary, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Yeary, daughter, Catherine Brooks, son Chris Yeary and wife Ginny, his granddaughters Michelle Hardy and Zoey Brooks, and great-granddaughter Kira Hardy.
