Jamie Hammonds passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, lovingly surrounded by family.

Jamie was born in Bonham, Texas April 11, 1945, the    daughter of Dean Whitt and Ruby Lucille Gaunce Whitt. Jamie married Calvin Hammonds on June 11, 1993.

She loved arts and crafts, gardening, animals of all kinds, spending time with her family and her beloved Chihuahuas.  Jamie never met a stranger and was loved by all. Flowers were one of her favorite things, she thought they were all equally beautiful. She taught many of her grandchildren how to play chess, she was an excellent player. When she was a child, she met Elvis Presley, and he bought her and her sister a snow cone.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bobby Dean Whitt, and her sister Alene Gideon.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin Hammonds of Denison, son Allen Scott of Caddo, Ok, daughter, Teresa Scott of Caddo, Ok, daughter Christie Murden and her husband Stephen of Denison, Step-Son Nick Hammonds and his wife Erica of Bells, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Logan Hartnett, Riley Hartnett, Tim Scott, Nick Hammonds, Carol Ann Scott and Morgan Hartnett.

Honorary Pallbearers are Coby Scott, Jeff Mays, Jamie Atwood, Amanda Williams, and April Harp.

The family will receive friends at Waldo Funeral Home on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Ronnie Ball will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, your local animal shelter, or a charity of your choice.
