Jaqueline Ann Mehaffey, 94-year-old, Sherman, TX, resident died Friday, October 4, 2024, at her home.

Jaqueline was born March 23, 1930, in Ft Smith Arkansas, to the late Jack and Mattie (Hensen) Bland. She graduated from high school in Ft. Smith, AR.

Jaqueline married the love of her life when she met and married Jim Mehaffey in August of 1949. They lived in Mt. Pleasant, TX for several years before moving to Sherman in 1969, when they started their own business Breathco Medi Serv. They operated the business for over twenty years.

Jaqueline was a very active and involved longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, having joined the church in 1969.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling and attending performances of the Sherman Symphony Orchestra and Sherman Community Players.

Jaqueline was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church Choir, The Sherman Service League and PEO (Professional Employers Organization).

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Mehaffey; parents, Jack and Mattie Bland; son, Mark Bland Mehaffey; Grandson, Mark Mehaffey; son in law Richard Ferguson; and sister, Nancy Lumsden.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Ferguson of Sherman; grandchildren, Laura Yancey and husband, Richard of Sherman, Darah Stephens of Sherman, Kristi Mehaffey of Frisco, TX, Billy Wayne Schroder of Killeen, TX, Michael Mehaffey of Sherman, and Madison Ferguson of Sherman; great-grandchildren, Chris Yancey, Kylee Yancey, Camden Stephens, Case Stephens, and Killian Schroder.

The family will receive friend from 10:00 to 1100 AM, Thursday, October 10th, In the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday October 10th, in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lander Bethel of Grand Avenue Presbyterian Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the R.C. and Pauline Eppler Mehaffey Memorial Scholarship and mailed to Grayson College Foundation, 6101 Grayson Drive, Denison, TX 75020.
