Jason Leroy Kupferschmid passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Jason was born July 4, 1971, in Peoria, Illinois. His parents were Edwin Leroy and Donna Jean (Blunier) Kupferschmid. He graduated from Eureka High School and the University of Illinois, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
He married Angela Lynn Wright on July 30, 1994, at Grace Church in Morton, IL.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. and Ameritex Pipe and Products as both an engineer and a facility manager.
Jason was a car enthusiast and enjoyed reading. He volunteered both time and resources at Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Legacy Bible Church in Sherman, TX.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Donna Kupferschmid.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Kupferschmid; sons, Brody Kupferschmid and Caleb Kupferschmid; sister, Amy Kupferschmid; brother, Kent Kupferschmid and his wife, Becki; sister, Julie Hoerr and her husband Mark; brother, Kevin Kupferschmid and his wife, Julianna; sister, Rachel Dotterrer and her husband Stephen.
Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Wright, sisters-in-law, Amy Andrews and Leah Nichols, and her husband, Brice, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on February 28, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Legacy Bible Church, 4818 FM 691, Denison, TX. A Celebration of Jason's Life will follow at 3:00 pm at Legacy Bible Church.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on March 10, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Grace Church, 1325 E Jefferson St, Morton, IL 61550.
The family requests that memorial gifts honoring Jason should be made to Habitat for Humanity, 901 N Grand Ave #2, Sherman, TX 75090.
