Funeral services for Jason Wayne Richardson will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 27 in the First United Methodist Church of Sherman. Dr. Jim Pledger and Dr. Tom Peel of the church will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Jeff Burley, Bobby Littlefield, Justin Dobbs, David Reynolds, Fred Stormer, and Kurt Holbrook will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Shaffer, Al Brown, Roger Sanders, Sam Graber, Vernon Richardson, David Richardson, Ray Grisham, and Ronald Brown. Mr. Richardson passed away Wednesday, September 24 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center at the age of 38.
Jason was born on August 25, 1970 in Dalhart, Texas to Bill and Anita (Skinner) Richardson. He graduated from Whitewright schools in 1989 and earned his BA in Accounting from East Texas State University in 1992. Jason later earned his law degree from the Texas Tech School of Law in 1998. Jason was a founding partner with the firm of Graber and Richardson LLP in Sherman. He was also a Certified Public Accountant, having practiced accounting several years prior to becoming an attorney. Jason and Stephanie Shaffer were married on May 16, 1992 in Sherman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the board of directors for the Child Guidance Center.
Jason is survived by his wife Stephanie of Sherman; twin children, Brian and Ainsleigh of Sherman; parents, Anita and Bill Richardson of Leonard; two brothers, Vernon Richardson and wife Vicki of Bailey and David Richardson of Leonard; two nephews, Zeke Richardson of Bailey and Caleb Richardson of Leonard; one niece, Bailey Richardson of Forney; his grandmother, Christine Richardson of Leonard; one uncle, Bill Skinner of Trenton; one aunt, Fran Richardson of Coppell; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne Richardson, formerly of Leonard, and Virgil and Eva Skinner, formerly of Trenton.
