Jay E. James, age 65, of Sherman, TX., passed away February 27, 2022.  He was born August 30, 1956, in Temple, TX., to C.B. and Helen James.   Jay grew up in Waco, TX., and graduated from Richfield High School in 1974.  Jay was open to new "adventures" which led to scuba diving trips, snow skiing, paragliding, and parachuting.  He married Judy Jacks on April 15, 1978, in Waco, TX.  Jay graduated from Baylor University in 1981 and began his career in retail management with Payless Cashways where he worked for over 12 years managing stores in Waco, Abilene and Sherman.  He continued working in retail management until his retirement in 2018.  Jay served as a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman and was an active member for over 35 years.  He was very involved with his grandkids and was an avid Baylor sports fan.

Jay is survived by his wife, Judy, of Sherman; sons, Jason James and wife, Kassidy, of Flower Mound, TX., Joel James and wife, Lisa, of Katy, TX.; grandchildren Anna, Hartley, Wyatt, Emily, Eleanor, and Eden; brother, Mike James and wife, Patti, of Waco, TX., and numerous other loving family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; C.B. and Helen James.

A memorial service to celebrate Jay's life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 2627 Loy Lake Road, Sherman, TX., on Saturday, March 5 ^th , at 4:00p.m.
