Jerry E. Brewer, 88 years old, formerly of Sherman, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Itasca, TX.

Jerry was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma. His parents were Garland Clifford and Geneva (Smith) Brewer. He was a veteran of the military having served in the US Army.

He was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He worked as a lineman and later as a dispatcher for Texas Power and Light until his retirement.

Preceding Jerry in death were his wife, Janet; his parents, Garland Clifford and Geneva Brewer; brothers, Wayne Brewer, Garland Brewer, Joe Don Brewer, and David Brewer; and a sister, Valda Dickens.

He is survived by his son, Steve Brewer and his wife Joan of Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughter, Dwana Brewer and her partner Gina Smith of Sherman; grandchildren, Stephanie Tilley and husband Ryan of Ardmore, Jessica Atnip and husband Dustin of Madill, Oklahoma; great grandchild, Everlee Atnip; and sister, Linda Brewer of McKinney, TX.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 7th, at West Hill Cemetery Outdoor Chapel. Deacon Randy Clark of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate.
