Jerry A. Dickerson, age 67, of Bokchito, Oklahoma, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, surrounded and comforted by his family.

Jerry was born to the late Harvey and Dovie Dickerson of Cove, Arkansas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a lifelong Christian. He was a graduate of Bryant High School and a Master Electrician by trade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Dovie; brother, Doyne; and grandson, Pete.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Cathy, of 33 years; his three children, Cody and wife Emily of Moss Point, Mississippi; Autumn and husband Chody of Sherwood, Arkansas; and Jeremy and partner Corey of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and his beloved grandchildren: Bella, CJ, Silas, Rosa, Saylor, Joplin, and Deacon.

To simply call Jerry a “jack of all trades” hardly does him justice. He knew a little bit about everything, and more often than not, he was pretty good at all of it.

HIS LEGACY

Work hard. Build. Persevere.

That ability was developed early. At a very young age, Jerry began working alongside his father, rewiring homes, modernizing plumbing systems, repairing whatever needed repairing, and helping tend the family’s 80-acre farm. Life there meant milking cows, cutting hay, tending fence, working hard, and, of course, finding plenty of time for adventure in the forests of the Ouachita Mountains. Those years never really left him.

Jerry carried the lessons he learned there throughout his entire life: work hard, fix what is broken, and leave something worthwhile behind.

Over the last 20 years, as Jerry stepped into retirement, he took those lessons and built them into an incredible legacy. Even in retirement, he never stopped building, developing, working the land, or dreaming about what could come next. Creating something from nothing wasn’t simply what Jerry did; it was part of who he was.

His knowledge, determination, work ethic, and ability to figure things out became lessons passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Jerry’s passing leaves an enormous void in the lives of those who loved him. His presence cannot be replaced, and the knowledge and experience he carried with him were earned over a lifetime.

Perhaps Jerry’s greatest legacy is that his children don’t have to fill the same shoes exactly as he did. He showed them how to make their own way, how to work, how to build, how to persevere, and how to leave something behind for the generation that follows.

The work Jerry began will continue.

And so will his legacy.
