Jerry Eichler

Sherman- Jerry Richard Eichler, Sr., age 78, of Sherman, Texas passed away Saturday , January 2, 2016, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, after an extended illness. Jerry was born August 6, 1937, in Archer City, Texas to Joe Eichler and Virginia Thomas Eichler. He graduated from Mineral Wells High School and attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. During his junior year at college, he met and married the love of his life, Genele Stalcup Eichler, on November 8, 1957, and recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his 3 children; Virginia Lynn Eichler Allen of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Jerry Richard "Jay" Eichler, Jr. and wife, Vicki, of Emory, Texas; Clayton Thomas "Clay" Eichler and wife, Tanya, of Denison, Texas.
Grandchildren are Melissa Allen Thompson and husband JJ, of Sherman, Texas; Rhonda Eichler Boone of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jay Richard Eichler and wife, Megan, of Owasso, Oklahoma; Justin Thomas Eichler and wife, Tifni, of Denison, Texas; Meagan Eichler of Grapevine, Texas; Ashlee Eichler Acosta and husband, Oscar, of Grapevine, Texas; Alex Eichler of Denison, Texas, and Christopher Lane "Chris" Eichler of Denison, Texas.

Great-grandchildren are Timothy Eichler of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lainey Eichler of Owasso, Oklahoma; Hunter Thompson of Sherman, Texas; Lucas Acosta of Grapevine, Texas; Zadeek Boone of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Austin Eichler of Owasso, Oklahoma; Tinslee Eichler of Denison, Texas; and Jason Eichler of Owasso, Oklahoma.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6 at Faith Church, 1800 FM 1417, Sherman, Texas. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM at Faith Church. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Tom Bragg, Glenn Cooper, Doyle Feagin, Ron Kumler, Kent Newtown, and JJ Thompson serving as pallbearers.
