Jerry Wayne Rains, 80 years old, of Bonham, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born October 26, 1943, in Stamford, TX. He was the son of Walter George and Geneva Grace (Locklin) Rains. He was a graduate of Irving High School. He married Lizzie Josephine Langley on April 19, 2000, in Fannin County.

He worked at Texas Instruments for 26 years as an Engineering Technician in the optics department. He retired in 1995. After retirement he started driving a limousine to stay active.

He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and cooking for the family, while spending time with his wife Josephine (Joann).

Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine Langley Rains, mother, Geneva Grace Rains, father, Walter George Rains, brother, Charles Rains and sister, Sheila Calkin.

He is survived by Son, James Rains and wife, Sandy, Grandsons, Andy Rains, Zeke George, Granddaughter, Katie Osbourn, Great Grandchildren, Jaxon, Emma, Harper, Brooks, Sophia, Gage and Ryder; Son, Scott Rains and wife, Kelly, Grandson, Tyler Rains and wife, Katie, Granddaughter, Kelsey Otto and husband, Travis, Great Grandchildren, Hadley and Parker Rains, Wells Otto; Son, Michael Rains, Grandchildren, Chris Wagner and wife, Brandy, Krisha Charrey and husband, Michael, Jera Michael Rains, Madison Rains, Lindsey Rains and Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, and Lily.

The burial will take place at Hagan Cemetery in Crockett, TX.
