Obituary

Funeral services for Jimmie Michael Gibbons, age 71, of Sherman, TX will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Flanagan of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro, TX officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.
He passed away and joined his parents in heaven on January 11, 2015 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX.
Jimmie was born on January 6, 1944 in Sherman, TX the son of Jeff Ervin and Imo Jean Gibbons. Jimmie was a very devoted family man. He and his dad were best friends. They had a Herford Cattle Ranch in his younger years together. Throughout his high school years, Jimmie was very involved in FFA and won many awards including The Farmers Lone Star award which he traveled to Kansas City to receive. He continued on with his love for ranching attending East Texas College and Cooke County College.
He married his high school sweetheart, Sharron Patterson, on January 25, 1964, and just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. They had two daughters which were also active in agriculture projects. He started his morning sharing a cup of coffee with his wife. Throughout the week he was a steward to his land and cattle and ending his week every Friday at the New Gainesville Livestock Auction where a seat was already reserved for him.
He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and he cherished his friends. His most recent joy was spending time with his great-granddaughter, Bentlee. She always put a smile on his face.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Sharron Gibbons of the home, daughter, Rebecca Ann Fennell and husband Jim of Whitesboro, TX, daughter, Karen Michelle Miller and husband Dan of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren, Jeffrey Brian Miles and Jessica of Sherman, TX, Monica Michelle Cloud and husband Kevin of Denison, TX, Justin Taylor Fennell of Denton, TX, Cody Michael Fennell of Whitesboro, TX and Ashley Cain and husband Blake of McKinney, TX. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Bentlee Michelle Cloud, Jaxon Cloud and many cousins and friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, two aunts, Eula Gibbons Glidwell and Betty Sue Clement; and one uncle, Everett Clement.
Family night will be on Thursday, January 15th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
