Jo Ann Lawson, 91 years old, of Sherman, TX, died January 1, 2026, in Denison.

Jo Ann was born in Combes, TX, on September 28, 1934. She was the daughter of Franklin Albert and Cora Ann (Etter) Davis. She attended Combes Schools. She married Charles Herrington on April 22, 1953, in Harlingen, TX.

She worked for the Irving Independent School District for 12 years, in food service. Her favorite job was as a homemaker because her family was the most important thing to her.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Herrington; her parents, Franklin Albert and Cora Ann Davis; her siblings, Mary Lou Rice and Don Marvin Davis; and two grandsons, Brian Andrew Bankston and Daniel Pierce Bankston.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Pippin of Sherman, Kay Farmer, and her husband David Russell Alford of Trenton, grandchildren, Adam Russell Seibert and his wife Alice of Sherman, Andrea Dale Vance of Fairbanks, AK, Alisha Steinmetz of Akron, Ohio; great grandchildren, Gabriel Seibert, Orion Vance, Dawton Vance, Christopher Steinmetz, and Sondra Steinmetz.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 6th, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
