Joahanna was born May 5th, 1955, in Sherman, Texas to Edward Roland Foster (Bobby) and Laura Belle Foster. She was a lifetime resident of Sherman, Texas.
She worked as a seismographer in her early years while raising her oldest son Jason. She was the 1st woman to run an entire seismographic crew. She later moved on to glass blowing and decided she wanted to get into metal art. Joahanna then enrolled into Grayson County College Welding School. While attending Welding School where she met her husband, Gary Renfro. She started the class a little late and the teacher asked Gary to help her get caught up with the rest of the class. (Later on, the teacher said, "that was the best weld he ever made.")
After she and Gary got married Joahanna started working as a baker for Safeway. Where she created the 1st Oreo cake. Gary bought Joahanna a farm where she built and ran the very 1st and Largest Grade A Goat Dairy in the South-Central U.S. Joahanna raised and milked over 330 head twice a day while raising 3 very rambunctious boys. She later sold her dairy and started baking and selling her baked goods. She continued her passion for baking until her health declined due to needing a liver transplant. After her transplant she started raising meat goats and was her passion till the very end.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, goats, chickens, and beloved dogs. Joahanna always had a passion for baking and making cakes for her loved ones (especially when she was able to bake with her grandson Zach). She always had a passion for helping others. For over 2 decades she was vocalist and percussionist in a band (Double Shots). Singing was a very strong passion for Joahanna since grade school and continued for her entire life. Her boys would go to bed every night listening to her practice singing songs for Gary nightly. Her voice touched many people over the years.
