Obituary

Johnnie Marcelle Cadenhead, better known as "Marcy" or "Big Mama" to those that knew and loved her, passed away 4/8/2023 at her home in Sherman, Tx.

Marcy was born June 10, 1943, in Whitewright, Texas to Vernon L and Elsie Caldonia Flowers. She moved to New Castle, Indiana as a child and graduated from high school in New Castle.

She had worked as a telephone operator at GTE for several years. She had also worked at Texas Instruments and United States Postal Service. For a time, she held a State of Texas Real Estate License.

Marcy was a longtime member of Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman.

She enjoyed gardening her flowers and caring for her pets. She was known to feed neighborhood stray animals and if need arose, take in a stray animal or two.

Marcy is survived by her daughter, Kanette Blomberg and her husband John; son, Ashley Cadenhead and his wife Beth; brother, Dale Flowers and his wife Gwen; grandchildren, Loren Lowry and her husband Bradley, Svea Blomberg, Caden Blomberg, John Taylor Blomberg, Tristan Cadenhead, Norah Cadenhead; great-granddaughters, Braeley Lowry, Lucy Lowry; sister-in-law, Carol Councellor; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.

She is also survived by her furry babies, Johnna Dot-Dot, Scrapee, and Lizzie Borden.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bud Councellor.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am Friday, April 14, at Vittitoe Cemetery with Ken Mullins officiating.
