IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnny Lee
Sutherland
July 22, 1954 – December 17, 2024
Johnny Lee Sutherland, 70, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on December 17, 2024. Born on July 22, 1954, to Wanda and Bobby Sutherland, Johnny lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and service to others.
He was a devoted husband to Sherry Sutherland and a loving father to Johnny Ray, Stephanie Nell, Tommy Andrew, and Amanda Rae. Johnny's dedication to his family was matched only by his tireless work ethic. Even in his final days, he was out mowing yards and cleaning up limbs for his customers—a testament to his commitment and the pride he took in running Johnny's Lawn Service, a name countless people depended on for years. He also worked for many years at Anderson Clayton and Kraft in Sherman. He was a devoted member of Loving Baptist Church in Sherman where he was baptized and faithfully served.
Johnny never met a stranger and was one of those rare individuals who could instantly brighten any room. His heart was truly bigger than Texas, and his hobbies reflected his deep love for others. Whether lending a helping hand or going out of his way to serve someone in need, Johnny felt most alive when he was doing something for someone else.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Sutherland, of the home; his children, Johnny Ray Sutherland & Debbi of Bonham Tx, Stephanie Nell Sutherland of Sherman, Tommy Andrew Sutherland & Renae of Durant OK, and Amanda Machin & Waylon of Sherman; Brother Joe Sutherland of Sherman, Mike & Andrea Sutherland of Sherman, as well as his cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Loving Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas.
Johnny's legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the countless acts of kindness that will never be forgotten. He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered.
