Where should I begin with the life of Jonathan Ivan Buchanan? He was an amazing man, brother, son, friend, and husband, but most of all to me, father. He loved motorcycles, Mexican food, movies, sports, the mountains, the beach, and spending time with his loved ones.

For those of you who knew Ivan, I can only imagine the stories you have to tell about him. Everywhere Ivan went, he left a wake of laughter and memories that you would not forget soon. His laughter carried into the depths of our family even in our last moments with him.

Ivan was a man of God! He proudly led our family with an ever-thirsting love and devotion for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While Ivan's road on his journey had many hardships and detours, his testimony was faithful until the end. Ivan was a dreamer in every sense of the word. He instilled in us that no matter what happens in life to continue to dream as big as you can.

Ivan was born on January 14, 1954, and went home on November 1, 2023, to be with our Heavenly Father. Ivan was preceded in life by his mother and father, George and Sonya Buchanan. Ivan's (Popz) dream continues on in former wife and life-long friend Patty Neely [Buchanan], oldest son Justin Buchanan and first granddaughter Skiley Jo Buchanan(Boo Boo), youngest son Jonathan(Jon), wife Emily and second granddaughter Lennox Buchanan (his girls), brother Tim and Pam Buchanan, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and countless friends and hearts touched.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. we will honor the life of Ivan Buchanan and enjoy the kind of fellowship among friends he loved. It will take place the the Waldo Family Center next to Waldo Funeral Home located at 619 N Travis Street, Sherman, TX. Come and share tributes, thoughts, and memories of Ivan.
