Obituary

Juanita Faye Pate went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in Allen, TX. She was 102 years young. Juanita was born in Mexia, TX, on August 2, 1922. She lived a life marked by kindness and a nurturing presence that touched all who knew her. Her memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of her many family and friends. Juanita was a beacon of strength and love throughout her life. She was a member of Tyler Tabernacle Church.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Bertha Kinsel, beloved husband J.D, (married for 68 years, 1940-2008), son Marvin Pate, son-in-law Bob Edwards, grandson Wayne Honeycutt and granddaughter, Christina Faye Pate.

She is survived by her sons, James, wife Allyson Pate, and Bennie, wife Debbie Pate. Her daughters, Leta Edwards, Debbie, husband Robert Simmons, and Joyce Wilson, and daughter in law Sharlotte Pate. 16 grandchildren; Chris, Dawn, Becky, Jay, Ryan P, Ashley, Ryan C, Kevin, Kate, Benjamin, Lauren, Cassidie, Chad, Alan,  Amy,and Scott, 31 great grandchildren; Rylee, Brayden, Cade, Kendon, Alyssa, Alexis, Kinsley, Ayden, Brian, Jessica, Michael, Darren, Amelia, Annalise, Payton, Kayla, Tyler, Paige, Jacob, Brady, Brittany, Ashton, Kelsie, Aiden, Linley, Emma, Cole, Brylee,  Karah, Kinley and Brett. 7 great-great grandchildren; Brooklyn, Jason, Landon, Darian, Courtland, Melody and Valerie.

Juanita was a devout Christian with an amazing soul. She never met a stranger and loved all. She was open to befriending everyone and tried to include everyone in her life. She was known for her warm smile, silliness and wit, and generous and giving heart. A sense of humor and hospitality were central to her personality. Her passion was playing games and never missed an opportunity to get dominos, cards or yahoo on a table. When she wasn't playing games, many times you could find her at a fishing hole or watching her beloved Texas Rangers. Juanita was an amazing and devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, Mimi, Mee-Maw, and friend. May her love, strength, and caring spirit forever live and thrive in the hearts of all those that knew her.

Pallbearers are: Benjamin Pate, Brayden Yancy, Chad Pitt, Chris Pate, Kendon Pate, Lauren Wilson; Honorary Pallbearers: Jay Honeycutt and Brady Pate. Pastor Mike Littlefield to officiate the service.
