IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julius Martin
Andreas
March 24, 1934 – January 14, 2023
Julius Martin Andreas, 88 years old, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Medical City of Lewisville.
He was born March 24, 1934, in Cleburne, Tx. His parents were Richard Max and Viola (Smith) Andreas. He attended Cleburne schools.
Julius was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Medical Corps. After his service to his country, he held jobs as a truck driver, diesel mechanic and a maintenance mechanic. He was a maintenance mechanic for Six Flags Over Texas and helped build many of the rides there at the theme park.
Julius "Preacher", as he was referred to by friends and family, was an amazing man of many talents. He always had a thirst for life and treated every day like an adventure. This lasting outlook kept a smile on his face that would light up the darkest room. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. That love, as well as his love for the bible, guided him to put others before himself. He was a gentle giant who always believed that no matter the path chosen in life, everything happened for a reason. This is why he lived a life of service to those around him. He had a unique way of guiding his family through the difficulties and challenges of life, including sneaking midnight malts with his grandchildren. He was a remarkable soul that will be truly missed by family and friends. The mark he left on every person he encountered will never be forgotten. We all love you in life and death.
He married the first time to Nellie Coburn until her death in 2007 and later married Shirley Jones until her death in 2021.
He is survived by daughters, Marsha Wigley of Whitesboro, Stephanie Cawvey of Sherman, Wanda Portney of Iowa; son, Max Andreas of Sherman; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Nellie and Shirley, a son, Martin Andreas, a daughter, Joyce Moore and his 10 siblings.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm, Friday, January 20, at Waldo Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, January 21 at Midway Cemetery in Keene, Tx.
