IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Junior
Blanton
May 29, 1939 – October 10, 2024
Junior Blanton, age 85 of Hendrix, Oklahoma ascended to his eternal home Thursday, October 10th at his residence following an extended illness.
It was from the cradle to the grave that our beloved Junior Blanton ran his race with purpose and dignity.
Junior was born May 29, 1939, to Gus and Mary Blanton. He was affectionally known as J.R., Pete, Junior Ray, Po-Junie, Lil Gus, and Parde.
While making permanent resident in Hendrix, Oklahoma, Junior's education was reared in Achille. His job experiences were affiliated with Reed Tool and Pillsbury.
Junior wore many hats. He served life being a big brother to his siblings, a son to his parents, a husband to his wife, a father, an uncle, a paw-paw, a business owner, and a friend to many. While he was all of those things God knew he needed someone. A friend, a lover, a confidant, so God went in and took one of his ribs. He handcrafted her to be everything he needed her to be. He called her Brenda. Junior and Brenda
encountered this world together for fifty-two years. The HAT of FATHERHOOD was no surprise. He was the father to six children. To some a counselor, to some a teacher, to some a friend. He tried to be what they needed him to be.
God saw Junior getting tired. Scripture says: "Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest in your souls." Matthew 11:28-29
On October 10, 2024, Junior went to sleep. Leaving a legacy of loved one includes: his spouse, Brenda Blanton; his children, Ricky (Ronda), their four children: Natalie, Richard, Monique, Shree, their granddaughter, Imani; Barbara (Kenny), their two daughters: Amber, Ariel, their grandson, KD; Russell (Queena), their four daughters: Kamren, Dominique, Dasha, Rayna, their grandchildren: Isom, Sylas, Daminica; Romano (Denise), their two daughters: Amari, Alyssa; Julia (Cecil), their two daughters: Nevaeh, Juliana; Jody (Stephanie), their two children: Kylie, Kaleb; three
sisters: Christene (Archie), Lurene, Mary Lou; and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
