Karen Anne (Jones) Black passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. She was born in Winchester, IL on Friday, September 26, 1941, the youngest child of Bert A. and Birdie B. Jones. She was a high school cheerleader and then worked as a bookkeeper before her marriage in 1960 to Kent M. Black at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, IL. She continued to work to support her husband while he finished college.

Karen and Kent had 57 wonderful years together. Along the way they lived in Marion, IA, Richardson, TX and Huntington Beach, CA. They built their retirement home on their K Bar K Ranch near Pottsboro.
Karen had a wonderful, friendly personality and was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved her family and friends, looking at her cattle on the ranch and decorating her home. She loved traveling in their motor home to historic places all over the USA. Karen loved taking her granddaughters Christmas shopping.

Never too busy when they needed her, Karen was the rock of her family. She was always available with loving support and encouragement.

Karen is survived by her husband Kent; daughters Elizabeth Satterfield and Nancy Shriner; son Scott Galyon; granddaughters Nicki and Paige Noruk, Brette Gabbart and Shelby Galyon; great granddaughter, Harper Gabbart; sisters Pauline Buckley and Dixie Turpin as well as numerous nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert Jones and Melvin Jones.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Karen's home at 1636 Georgetown Road in Pottsboro.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Georgetown Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Hancock officiating and Scott Galyon assisting. Entombment will be held at a later date in the Black Family Cemetery.
